FNAF Fans be ready!! because Epic Games is bringing Freddy Fazbear and his band into Fortnite. FNAF is one of the biggest horror franchises on the planet, and Fortnitemares exists basically to host exactly this kind of crossover.
Epic Games has confirmed that the Five Nights at Freddy's collaboration is up for this year's Fortnitemares event, and it's arriving on October 1. Not a rumor, an actual, official announcement.
When Does It Actually Drop?
The collab was announced today, on September 27, 2026, and it's launching along with the rest of Fortnitemares. Epic Games has officially confirmed the event begins on Thursday, October 1st, and it's expected to come out with the v42.30 update which drops on around 5:30 PM IST.
Whats in the package?
Don't expect it to be just a lazy skin-only crossover. The collab is bringing an entire Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria location to the island, yes you read that right. Along with four animatronic bosses, players will need to fight and survive. Interestingly, the pizzeria had actually been visible under construction earlier in the current Override season. so eagle-eyed players who noticed that half-built building weeks ago were onto something the whole time.
Who all are coming to the game? it's the classic lineup. The reveal trailer featured all four of the original animatronics from Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. And this isn't just a cosmetic skin, the event will let players actually transform into the animatronics and hunt down other players, which honestly sounds like exactly the kind of chaotic mini-mode Fortnitemares thrives on.
On the cosmetics side, here's what's been confirmed so far:
- Freddy Fazbear Outfit (with a Withered alternate style)
- Chica The Chicken Outfit (Withered style included)
- Bonnie The Bunny Outfit (Withered style included)
- Foxy The Pirate Fox Outfit (Withered style included)
- Freddy Fazbear Kicks
- A Foxy/Mr. Cupcake Back Bling
Another thing fans should know is that there's also a musical evidence buried in the trailer. The Living Tombstone's iconic FNAF song plays at the end of the reveal video, which strongly suggests a Jam Track based on it is on the way too. If anyone has spent any time in the FNAF fandom, they will know that this song practically defined the franchise's early internet presence, so seeing it make its way into Fortnite's music mode feels like a deliberate nod to longtime fans rather than a random inclusion
Why This Collab Matters
FNAF has technically been with other platforms and games over the years, but it's never had an official Fortnite crossover until now, which is honestly a little surprising given how much Fortnite has scooped up nearly every major pop culture property at this point. This slots in nicely next to Fortnite's recent trend of pulling from major gaming and anime IPs rather than just movies and music, following collabs like Kafka and Blade from Honkai: Star Rail and the South Park crossover earlier this year.
For the horror and action enthusiasts , this is arguably one of the more fitting Fortnitemares additions in a while. Unlike some random crossdress up that feels like it's blend into the Halloween theme, FNAF practically was built for it, jumpscares, animatronics, survive-the-night gameplay. It's a genuinely natural fit, and that's probably part of why fans have wanted it for so long.
